Penthouse - Wellington House

Wellington House in Buckingham Gate, London SW1 is one of London's most prestigious addresses. This is the literature especially commissioned to sell the penthouse appartment (which, incidentally, comes with the roof terrace!)

The cover which is litho printed with leaf illustrations and hot foil blocked in silver and white foil uses a linen embossed brown board supplied by that other, Hull based, paper company! Size is 190x265mm portrait and is saddle stitched.
However, it's the text where the job really starts to shine! ...printed on our Omnia 150gsm.
Centre spread:
Interestingly, the brochure only has a 4pp text stitched in, with the 6pp "plans" section forming a roll fold which has been stuck into the inside back cover using a tab stuck parallel to the spine (below)

...rolling out to it's full extent:

Design is by NB:Studio. Creative Directors on the project were Nick Finney and Alan Dye. Designer was Eng Su. It has been beautifully printed, foiled and finished by Gavin Martin.

Paper Swallows

Last week, I was asked by fashion house GHOST if I know anyone who did origami! Well luckily, I remembered that Eng Su, who I first met at NB:Studio and who is now freelancing (see my post on 13/06/09) has a penchant for the papery art! ...so after a couple of quick phonecalls I put the two in touch and Eng made over 50 swallows for their new catalogue launch event yesterday.

They used a mixture of Offenbach Bible 60gsm and StarFine White 100gsm.

Everybody was happy!
Here is a pic and a lovely thank you note from Eng - thank you.

This is Paper Art

This is the most amazing thank you card (piece of paper) that I've ever been sent!

Eng Su, has just left NB:Studio to go freelance, sent me this most amazing piece. All the letters have been cut out by hand with a scalpel - and not just out of any old paper - Eng has used our Offenbach Bible 50gsm!

Interestingly this is a useful piece to dismiss one of the commonly held beliefs about the Offenbach Bible which is that because it is thin, it will tear easily. What people forget is that this is a GENUINE "Bible" paper (we supply it to Bible publishers) and it has three imperatives:

1. High opacity for it's weight
2. Archival quality (in excess of 100 years)
3. Excellent strength, so it can be used on a daily basis!

Needless to say this fabulous piece will be going in a frame on the wall in the office.

Thank you Eng and good luck in finding the freelance work!
